ANIMATION PUBS IN SOHO, LONDON!

One thing that animators like to do at the end of a hard week is to go to a pub, relax and talk a load of opinionated rubbish about animation.

Here are some of the pubs in Soho that are popular with jobbing animators.

Star and Garter, Poland Street.

For about 20 years this was the animation pub. Since the exodus of animation studios out of Soho it has become less important. A few animators still drink here on a Friday night for old times sake.

The Blue Posts, Berwick Street.

The pub where most 2D animators drink. It looks like it hasn't been redecorated since the early 50's and is all the better for it.

Definitely the one pub that you can guarantee there being animators drinking there on a Friday night.

The George, Wardor Street.

Very popular in the 60's and now used by a lot production types, as well as a lot of the facilities houses.

The Nelly Dean, Dean Street.

Cinisite is just round the corner as is SVC, so expect a few of their workers to be wetting their whistles there.

The Crown and Two Chairman, Dean Street.

Another pub popular with the 3D companies, The Hive being the nearest studio.

The Coach and Horses, Poland Street.

A pub that has always been popular with animators, now used by the animators working at The Framestore.
